Autumn Greetings -
It's interesting when speaking requests come in how several seem to be looking for similar themes. The "theme" for October has turned out to be Customer Service. It's a speaking topic I bring from my corporate days working for IT Organizations. If you happen to be local and want to improve your business results, you are invited to join me. There are two opportunities to hear my 3 important keys to help you provide outstanding customer service with a little Fish, Fries and Pickles! See details below or on my Events & Classes web page.
As I'm sure you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. Breast cancer takes the lives of more than 40,000 women and men each year. Yet if a cancer is detected early by a mammogram, survival rates increase, according to the American Cancer Society. I have an article I previously wrote that has never been published in my newsletter. I thought of only sending it to the ladies on my list, but then I realized that all the gentlemen on the list have a special lady in their lives - a mother, sister, aunt, daughter, etc. PLUS, if the NFL can help raise awareness with their pink gear, why not share my story with everyone too. To Your Health & Success!
PS: A great big "Welcome!" to all the new readers who have recently joined my guilt-free community! You're going to love the resources you'll find here to help you create more time and focus to accomplish YOUR big goals...Guilt-Free! Enjoy!

By: Victoria Cook Unless you live under a rock, you know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While it’s important to have a mammogram done whatever the month, reminders to do so, and the benefits of early detection, are really driven home during October. So it was quite fitting that I personally went for my very first mammogram last October 2, 2008. Oh sure, I’m like A LOT of women who have put off having this potentially lifesaving screening performed. The "horror stories" of pain, torture and pancake squishing kept me away too. After a stern prodding from my physician, and encouragement from my YOUNGER sister who had it done, I finally succumbed. I’m happy to report that it’s not painful at all. Sure, you feel a bit vulnerable, uncomfortable and maybe slightly embarrassed, but it’s not horrible! I had a sweet woman who explained each step as we went and did her best to ensure I was as comfortable as possible. Here are three things I learned:
How ’bout you?
